Maura Saddi. Abstraction and Geometry.

The Italian artist Maura Saddi was born on 1959 in Carbonia on the island of Sardinia. Having passed through an initial descriptive phase, Saddi began to focus on geometric abstraction. Her first exhibit was presented in 1979.
In 2000 Saddi established her own studio "Studiospace" (Spaziostudio) located in the Piazza Venezia in Cortoghiana- mining allocation planned by the architect Saverio Muratori, having risen in the vicinity of the mine’s namesake.

...it’s necessary to have serious reasons when a painter decides to paint in only black and white, excluding all the other colours. of these reasons there is one which maura saddi doesn’t ignore: that is from the start of 20th century that led malevitch to propose his famous black square on a white background, with which inaugurated in the history of art, the practise of this chromatic asceticism (Fernand Fournier, Paris, Mars 2005).
